Long have I known about him, but shied away from exploration. A review of the new Haffenden biography piqued my interest and I am now dipping into all the above (except the poetry, which I haven’t acquired yet). A brilliant, cantankerous mind and a fearsome foe of Christianity in Western thought and art.
